Mars
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and the second-smallest planet in the Solar System, being only larger than Mercury. In English, Mars carries the name of the Roman god of war and is often referred to as the "Red Planet". Scientists say that there may have been life on mars because it still has icepoles and signs that show that there may have been a river flowing through it.

The surface of Mars is reddish in color because its soil has lots iron oxide or rust particles in it. The sky on Mars often appears pink or light orange because the dust in the soil is blown into Mars's thin atmosphere by winds on it.

Most of the time the sky is in pinkish orange color. At times of dawn and dusk, the Martian sky takes on a violet color, due to scattering of light by very small water ice particles in clouds of it.
